Rob, Have you started since that and if so did you lose any power or having a hard time accelerating?

That could be some motor problems. Was the motor pushing any oil out the air box drain tubes?

Check for leaks at coolant tank in back. Check the seams on tank for leaks. Check hoses . Is it steaming out. The auto shut down should have sounded and shut the motor down at 205 to 210. Other than that maybe plugged radiator.

There is a bus out there that has oval opera windows in both side of bay doors(front bay) on both sides of bus. It was one of the big singers that had some, shall we say bad habits. It was said that when they finished a gig and on the way home his group members used to stick him down there and lock him in so that he wouldn't embarrass the rest of the group. LOL

Its an Eagle grey as i remember.
We Merle's bus in elk Grove sometimes. His FIL lives there. His bus 102 C also, has a door on the drivers side.
I found it in my Pictures. It also had 2 VW tops mounted on top.

I don't know about yours but mine had a sheet of 3/4" with foil on the inside and outside of panel. you might take off a small section so you can see what there. I wonder if anyone has ever drilled hole in between ribs and shot in an foam etc.

Pull a string down the side at siding trim level to keep an eye on it as you work from time to time. Or put in furring strips and fill those voids with foam then cover with panels or whatever. Just some ideas.

That is part of the structure on an MCI. It can tweak the frame. You should block the body before any panels are pulled. Long process. Jack points amd bulkhead areas. Some have said they pulled just a few at a time  foamed and reinstalled.

MCI Bus Projects / Re: Fuel sender
« on: June 15, 2013, 09:07:40 AM »
If your fuel gauge works I wouldn't worry about it. Mine was stuck on full which in and of it self was great I never had to fill her up. 1 problem it was not working at all. I pulled the sender out of the tank and the was a float but badly chipped and up where it moved the 2 sections it was all worn and not touching the windings that when it moves past each wire the register and send to the gauge the height of the float. those wires were all pushed to the top of it. must of got caught when bouncing around moving down the road many years ago.
I got a new one from Luke. someone had installed 3 extra pipes into the old one that the new one didn't have. I email Luke and sent him pictures and asked if I needed them. He sai they all looked at it and thought my someone got very creative. they had not seen one like that before but that it would work.

I did find that one had a long tube one it probably for an extra pickup at one time and 1 of them was for the generator pickup. I just driller a 3/8 inch hole and used JB weld to install the pipe i took out of the other one. Works great. HTH

Brian I am glad that didn t happen to you. That's sounds like something I d do lol.

You might try another shop or coach company. Those guys are probably good but are not used to working on a bus. Way different animal. You might get a better deal.

All 5's do have drop boxes.I think it was the way he worded that.  Lol

Luckily ours was just painted before we got it. But that always worried me. Would have liked to see it before paint. I have 2 small rust spots in the side panels and at the back.
Looks nice. All White or a couple of strips. ;D 8)
