I just replaced my 4 rear airbags a couple of weeks ago, I changed to the rolling lobe style and it made a big difference in the ride over the blocked of cantilever bags, I plan on changing the front this winter when I have a little more time to the rolling lobe type also. Not to bad of a job once you get the old ones out. Good luck Jason

Check your bolts. You might want to get nuts and bolts with the bags if they have been in awhile. Some end up just cutting them off and replacing with new.

Those are special bolts, don't mess around trying to save them. Just buy new ones. :)

Don't try to save the bolts as previously mentioned.

I found that with the wheels off and the bus properly blocked up it was still difficult to see some of the bolts and nuts to get them off.

It is my opinion that the easiest thing to do is cut the nuts on each side with a dremel tool so you can put a flat tip screwdriver in the slot.

Pry the sides apart and the nut cracks in half and falls off.

For the ones that you can't see get a mirror and set it so you can see the nuts and do the same thing.

Steady hands and patience is what worked best for me.

HTH  YMMV

If you aren't in a hurry, soak them with PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench for 4-7 days before you take them off. Most will probably come off with a wrench.  I did all 8 of mine a few years ago during our annual Yuma winter layover.....took me a while but i was in no big rush, plus i was healing up from dislocating my shoulder so i did it slow and easy.  ;)

ouch that sounds painful. I can't even imagine reaching up and wrenching with a dislocated shoulder. Ed your Da man. Yes I have had one too, so I know how bad they hurt.

Dave, i was doing the air bags about 3 months after the accident......i was not completely 100% back to normal until 7 months.  Never would have believed it would take that long but it did........part of it might be that it was over 3 hours before it was reset back in place, and part of it might be that i was 56 at the time. :)

So it was 20 years ago eh, LOL
YA mine was in HS and my Football coach reset it on the field for me and I played the rest of the game. It hurt so bad the next day that I went to the Doctor and he said it was set wrong and could have messed up the socket. He pulled it out and reset it. Yep that was the pain part I was speaking of and now at 59 if i raise it to high it lockup and I actually have to pull it down with the other hand. But life goes on!... 8) ;D
